Saturday I photographed and interviewed Me Without You. I did the photo shoot at the orange show in Houston, if you have never been you should go. They arrived early so I was not quite ready, While I set up, they enjoyed looking around. It was fun working with them, their personalities were very welcoming and watching them interact I could see how they were like family to each other.
Afterwards i went to Warehouse Live to interview them. I took a few photos of them during sound check then we went to the green room, where we planned aboutt 20 minutes to do the interview. 25 minutes later when their manager Michael checked in, the guys wanted to keep going. It was very interesting to hear their advice for new bands, their other interests and what they liked as 12 year olds. The interview ended up being more than 45 minutes long, which was the longest interview I had ever done, and also one of my favorites.
I got to see the concert that night and it was awesome-the crowd loved them and then the opening bands (Kevin Devine & Burled Beds) sounded great as well. One thing that I noticed is that their fans did not just watch the show, they sang along-and not just singing, but like they themselves were on stage: screaming and passionately singing as if their life depended on it.
Overall, if you do not know who they are, it is time you check them out. They have been a band almost as long as i have been alive, (I am 12 years old) they have a new record out (10 Stories), and if you are already a fan, I now know why. it was a really easy photo shoot, fun interview and great concert.
