When Jackson takes your portrait:
What you can expect
3 main steps
Interview (15-40 minutes)
Jackson will be asking you a series of 10-20 questions to establish who you are and what you want. Using this information, he will develop concepts for your shoot, allowing your images to be unique, customized to you.
Concept (via email)
Jackson will provide you with 2 concepts based on the interview process. You can choose 1 of the concepts for Jackson to shoot. He'll prepare for your shoot with lighting diagrams and various other technical aspects.
Image (10-60 minutes)
When the time for your shoot arrives, we will have arrived early and set up beforehand. This uses your time efficiently, as you only have to show up, do any necessary makeup or wardrobe, and have your picture taken.

History
Jackson has been growing as a photographer, however in January 2011, he told me (Jack, Dad) he wanted to get more serious about being a photographer. I decided he needed to shoot more of his own shoots, although i did not want him wasting his time on portraits that would not be a challenge, or interesting. i also wanted the images to goto people that could use them and appreciate them. Musicians and models were the first people that i thought of, i ran into Benjamin Wesley at a local coffee shop and knew he was a musician.. so i asked him if he would be willing to let jackson create an image for him, at this point i had not given much thought to what might be happening. Jackson interviewed him and we had a plan for them to meet at Fitzgerald's where Jackson was going to set up a backdrop and have a quick portrait session with him. then stick around to shoot his live show. Benjamin was impressed with the photo and asked if i thought Jackson would like to show them at Catalina Coffee, i thought that would be a cool way to have all the work he was going to be doing go towards a goal, and give him a deadline. With the goal of getting 8-12 bands photographed by August it seemed possible as i am friends with many musicians. once we started the project grew and bands were quickly referring other friends and bands. after a 4 week period of time we had our first 6 slots filled. With a potential for many other bands to join the roster including a few national bands.
