BiC Umair

This was the first of five designers for my collaboration with the Beauty in Courage project the designer for today was Umair Khan.

We set a hard date to do this shoot and that date being the 16th of October; so we asked Darmesh, owner of the MUA project, if we could use his space when he said it was available and we immediately put it on the books. A few days later I decide to scout for locations to shoot near his makeup studio so I started biking around and was finding some locations that I saw a lot of potential in.

Here are phone photos of the locations I scouted…
After I got home and reviewed the locations, I started thinking about composition for the images, then the next day it was go time. I arrived at noon and started setting up and shortly thereafter, Umair our designer for the day arrived. After him our makeup artist arrived, Courtney, then Rosie the hair stylist and finally the models started arriving. At that time what I decided to do, was to have a studio setup then do some on location shots, so that way it helps build both the models, Courtney and Rosie’s, portfolios as well as gives the designer stock images. Meanwhile, the shoot ended at midnight and I had a lot of fun working with everybody involved.

Here are some of the B-roll images from the shoot…

Huge thanks to Colette from First Models for her help in both providing the models and in helping me understand how to work with a modeling agency. I would also like to mention and thank the MUA project for providing makeup and the space. Thanks also goes out to Courtney our makeup artist for that day as well as Rosie Arizpe our wonderful hair stylist, and I can’t go without mentioning Umair, for providing the dresses, as well as thanking all of the models for their time and energy on this project.
